They have many original documents scanned and online. http://www.loc.gov/index.html<br /><br />There are loads of books about the fascinating inventor, many of them detail his inventions and offer glimpses into his notes, but I enjoyed this one: Mon Cher Papa, Franklin and the Ladies of Paris by Claude=Anne Lopez.<br /><br />I know you are a regular visitor to my blog and I appreciate your wonderful comments.
